ACE Inhibitors
- drug name ends in -pril
- block conversion of Angiotensin I to Angiotensin II
- causes vasodilation; aldosterone secretion (cells reabsorb sodium and water, excrete potassium)
- side effects include hypotension, tachycardia, hyperkalemia, cough (#1 reason patients are non-compliant with these meds)
